Pepsi makes consumers Pepsikat!
Pepsi taps into its consumers’ creative side with the new Pepsikat Challenge dance contest promo launched last August 16. The brand is calling on all its consumers to show and record their moves on video for a chance to win free tickets to the Black Eyed Peas’ (BEP) concert in Bangkok, Thailand.
To join Pepsikat, consumers must record a 15-second video of themselves dancing to the tune of More – the BEP Pepsi Anthem featured in the new BEP Pepsi commercial. The consumers must be holding a Pepsi can in the video to qualify for the contest. They can upload the recorded video in the designated section at the Pepsi web site. Consumers can also go to any Timezone branch at SM Mall of Asia, Glorietta 2&4, Robinsons Metro East, Trinoma, Greenbelt 3, Ayala Center Cebu, Market!Market!, Alabang Town Center, and Gateway Cinemas with a Pepsikat Booth (see table of schedule below), bring a Pepsi can to register and record their 15-second video instantly.
The videos will be uploaded at the site and consumers can support their favorite entries by voting for them online or thru text voting for Smart subscribers. Online voters must register and log-on at the Pepsikat page.
TNT, Smart Addict and Smart Buddy users can register by sending PEPSIKAT REG name/age/gender/address to 2861.
Each online and text vote earns the voter one raffle entry. At the end of the promo period, two registered text voters and two registered online voters also stand a chance to win tickets to the BEP concert in Bangkok. Winners will be notified via registered mail and will receive a call from a Smart special number. Announcements will also be made via radio ads and press releases.
The top 30 most creative videos will be shown on MYX and from this pool, three videos will be chosen as Creativity winners by the judges. Another three video entries with the most number of votes from the text and online voters will also be given the People’s Choice Awards.
Aside from the concert tickets, prizes also include plane fare, accommodations, pocket money and a limited edition shirt.
