Love Actually Syndrome

i still can't get over the Love Actually movie. i've just finished watching it again and this time i got to watch the bonus materials such as the deleted scenes and soundtrack with introductions by the english screenwriter and director Richard Curtis. originally the movie was 3 1/2 hours long but then they cut it short to 2 hours and 10 minutes. the deleted chunks are great scenes and it's a good thing they have included them in the dvd. i would definitely burn a copy of this dvd. :)

also, the soundtrack is just the best and until now i am LSS-ed with Joni Mitchell's new version of Both Sides Now. she wrote this song at the age of 25 and had re-recorded it recently. perhaps i'll get to receive my "emotional education" from this song too (same with the character of Karen and the director Richard).

Rows and flows of angel's hair
And icecream castles in the air
And feathered canyons everywhere
I've looked at clouds that way

But now they only block the sun
They rain and they snow on everyone
So many things I would have done
But clouds got in my way.

I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down, but still somehow
It's cloud illusions I recall
I really don't know clouds at all.

Moon and Junes and Ferris wheels
That dizzy dancing way you feel
As every fairy tale comes real
I've looked at love that way.

But now it's just another show
You leave them laughing when you go
And if you care, don't let them know
Don't give yourself away.

I've looked at love from both sides now
From give and take, but still somehow
It's love's illusions I recall
I really don't know love at all.

Tears and fears and feeling proud
To say "I love you" right out loud
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds
I've looked at life that way

But now old friends are acting strange
They shake their heads, they say I've changed
Well something's lost, but something's gained
In living every day.

I've looked at life from both sides now
From win and lose, but still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all.
