Truly great friends are impossible to forget.

it's been 2 years since i last saw my college friends. tonight, we finally had the chance to meet up again since mark had flown back from taiwan for a 10-day emergency leave and katchy was able to come to manila all the way from la union. yey!!!

i was the one who suggested to have our all-expense paid dinner and drinking spree at krocodile grill. thanks mark! :) speaking of mark, he hasn't changed at all --- his trademark goofy look, multiple burps and never-ending corny jokes! when i say corny, CORNY talaga! ewan ko ba.

jules, mike and obe were not able to come. eto ang mga naga-gwapuhang aspiring models kaso hopeless na ata madiscover at mabigyan ng break. hehehe. jules was at work while the other 2 eh wala na kameng contact numbers nila.

latest updates on these peeps, hmmm.
mark: will fly back to taiwan and extend his contract for another 6 months. i'm encouraging him na magcross-country na lang to accompany me.
katchy: still applying as a caregiver in canada, hopefully next year makaalis na. :)
john: ang heir ng kanilang construction firm. he's now taking his masters on hydraulics at UP (nakanang!) dahil gusto mag-academe at mambola ng mga babaeng studyante.
jules: isang subject na lang eh nde pa tapusin. may pinakamaraming records ng LOA sa mapua. working in a call center right now.
mike: napanood ni katchy sa eat bulaga. bwahaha! sumali daw sa model-modelan churva.
obe: MA at PA. hehe.

i'll miss you guys, matagal na naman ulet bago tau magkita-kita! *mwah*

today, the epidemic weekend hangover hit me again. woke up at around 9am and received an sms from boss ric advising me that he'll be on SL. i didn't want to start the week with TARDINESS written all over my face kaya i called in sick too. sorry sir ric! :)

sayang talaga coz im still under probation so no work no pay un kaya i thought of doing something productive today. ate my breakfast and grabbed some smokes until 10am. naisip ko na pumunta na lang ng manila to change my records in mapua and request for new copies of my diploma and TOR. left at 11:30 tapos antrapik, sobra! arrived there at 2pm and met up with my cousin narlyn whose wandering manila to pass her CVs sa mga recruitment agencies. she badly needs a job abroad kaya todo rin ang support namin.

pagdating ko sa mapua, aba napakaingay. akala ko job fair lang, ayun pala eh frosh week (hmmm, walang ganito samin nun ah, gaya gaya talaga sa la salle to, por que si yuchengco na may-ari). anyway, so i headed to the registrar at nalaman kong kelangan pa pala ng joint affidavit from 2 disinterested parties. asos! kainis! so buti na lang at may notary public along muralla street. so as usual, gawa-gawa na naman ung affidavit at kame lang ang nagsign. nakow, nung una akala namin un talaga ung lawyer kse matanda na sha at mukha naman may alam, pero ayun pala eh peke rin at wag ka kame pa nagcorrect ng grammar ng affidavit ha!! hmmp! kainis. after completing the requirements eh napasa ko na rin lahat and nagbayad na rin sa treasurer. all in all, i paid 825 bucks, not bad, at least nde ko na kelangan pumunta pa ng CHED (nde na yata under ng CHED ang mapua eh).

we're finished by 5pm tapos kain sa mcdo. sobrang pagod! and of course, papalagpasin ko ba ang famous intramuros wall na maganda for photo op (kaso mejo makulimlim na nun) and perfect tambayan for smoking. hai, sobrang namiss ko ang manila (mas masarap pa rin talagang mag-aral).

went home at around 6pm na. kakapagod, promise.

a call from taiwan

i woke up really late today, around 5ish (ung tipong malapit na magsunset) and the first thing that i did was to check my cellphone. i've got 4 missed calls from mark-- one of my close friends in college who's now working in taiwan. he left 2 years ago considering the fact that it's not that easy to find a job here that pays well. he wanted to pursue the engineering field talaga unlike me whose supposedly in the ECE field and now enjoying a demanding career in IT particularly in SAP.

mark and i stayed in touch even if he's working overseas. from time to time, we call each other para magkamustahan. once in a while, i check his friendster na sabi nya eh andun daw picture ng new girlfriend, pero wala naman!

going back, after seeing the missed calls, i sms-ed him (ayoko muna tumawag kse nga frugal mode ako ngayon dba?!?) and he phoned me right away. the usual kwentuhan and i asked him kung bakit nde natuloy ung planned uwe nya last march for her sister's graduation, un nga daw he decided to extend his contract pa. he's planning to come back this october. i was wondering why he wanted to come back pa and work here. kme nga dito na nasa pinas pa eh nagkakandaugaga nang umalis. i know he misses his family and he doesn't have any plans on living abroad talaga, pero kahit na sayang. hai, ganun din kaya ako? well, as for me, i've always dreamed of living elsewhere where i can eventually take my family to stay with me. nakakainis na dito sa pinas, especially now, election na naman at magulo.

anyway, the chat with mark left me wondering what it'll be like if i get the chance to fly abroad, live independently and work my ass off to earn dollars. what the heck, i have to deal with my birth certificate correction first, fuck!
