i'm using this desktop now dahil nakita ko na gamit to ng isa sa mga nagpost sa ADIML. at least mejo magiging familiar ako sa geography. i remember when mish told me na gusto nya pumunta ng Cambodia eh naisip ko na nasa South America un. harhar! i know shungak ako talaga most of the time. anyway, hinahanap ko ang Mauritius at Belgium, nde ko makita! sabi ko na nga ba, nasa Pluto ako eh. =P

forever late

nun nagbakasyon ako sa pinas, ang body clock ko eh MU time which is 3 hours late. ngayon naman na nakabalik na ako dito ulet eh ang body clock ko naman eh CET time which is 4 hours late.

2pm: good morning sunshine!
5pm: ngayon pa lang ako maglulunch!

ang conclusion? normal na sakin ang pagiging late, ACN Manila days pa lang! siguro mas magiging on time ako kung naging call center agent ako, feeling ko kase panggabi akong tao. un lang, share ko lang. =P

Shut Down!

my current project will be shutting down sooner than expected. not just offshore but also onshore. nagpapanic na daw ang mga tao onshore lalo na ang mga freelance guys. ang recession nga naman. on the other hand, eh may proposal na ginagawa ang mga execs, that is to bring the functional scope offshore. goodluck na lang at sana ma-approve dahil pag na-approve eh makakawork ko ulet ang fave lead ko. anyway, dahil nga sa recession eh mukhang pag nagresign ka sa panahon ngayon eh nde mo na kelangan magbigay ng 3 months notice, ibigay mo lang daw ang RL eh free to go ka na at bayad pa ang 3 months mo. applicable kaya sa akin un? hmmmm. meron pa rin naman akong narereceive na emails from SG recruiters pero madalang na, nde katulad dati. so siguro sa ngayon eh steady muna ako. dahil sa low workload eh naiisip ko tuloy magbakasyon ulet. hehehe.

another dilemma

should i go and take the certification program or not? ang kaso eh since the center will be paying for it and they said that they don't want to link the certification with my decision if i will extend my contract or not, eh kahit papano eh nakakaguilty rin naman kung magsign up ako tapos in the end eh iwan ko rin sila. hai lord, gimme some sign.

since xmas naman eh pinagbigyan ko na ang sarili ko. nang masulit ang susunod na year ko sa paradise island eh i've decided to get myself a DSLR. goodluck na lang sa newbie na tulad ko. (nde naman ako nag-iisa, bumili rin si Jacque, isa pang nde marunong. hehehe!)

on living independently

it has been more than a year now that i've been living alone and away from home. nung college ako, i've always dreamt of having my own pad and matry maging independent. oh well, based on my experience eh nde naman mahirap. manageable naman sha pero there will be times na nakakaloka. it would have been easier siguro kung nasa pinas tapos makakauwe pa rin ako during weekends and i would still be able to hang out with my friends. pero atleast, i get to experience this and nakaya ko naman.

actually may pros and cons eh, eto:

1. kahit ano gustong mong gawin, magagawa mo. hahaha, example (example lang!) maglumandi ako. hahaha.
2. sa household chores eh ako ang bahala, meaning kung kelan ako nasa mood mag-general cleaning, magluto ng cravings ko, etc.
3. sa pagbubudget ako ang bahala, kung nagtitipid ako eh pede ko isabay sa diet mode. kung maluho naman ako eh kelangan ko lang i-make sure na within sa budget.
4. walang sermon/nagging. (luv u mama and mommy!)
5. marami pang iba.

cons naman eh...

1. pag maysakit ako eh no choice kundi gamutin ang sarili at umiyak. just like now, un open wound ko needs packing everyday, talaga namang napakahirap. kaliligo ko lang tapos after packing pawis na ako kagad. packing nga pala means dressing open wounds. nde ko na idedescribe kse gross at ang sakit isipin.
2. nakaka-autistic, diba papa jays? sobrang sagana ka sa alone time.
3. dahil sa mag-isa ako eh lagi akong tamad, there are some weekends na talagang walang labasan ng bahay. so kaya kinukulit ako ng mga colleagues ko na wala akong social life. oh well, siguro andito ako sa Mauritius. pero if i were in other place na may night life at maagang nagsasara ang mga establishments eh nde ako magmumukmok sa bahay.
4. mahirap magluto nang para lang sa isang tao. pagkain ko buong week na un pag nagluto ako, ako pa man din ang tipong maramihan magluto kse mas gusto ko ung may ibang kakain ng niluto ko.

with this experience, sa palagay ko kaya ko pa rin talaga kahit maulet to, wag lang dito sa lugar na to. iba naman, sa 4-season country naman. hehehehe.

anyway, ngayon nga pala na partially handicap ako eh wala akong ginagawa kundi dumapa at tumayo sa bahay. at this point, mas madali sana kung may kasama ako pero i have no choice. all the while akala ko healthy ako, nde pala.

everything has to be within reach. hehehe!
ang bestfriends ko for 2-3 months. hail. :(

Murphy's law in action

based sa mga nipost ko na events sa calendar ko eh i'm supposed to fly back to Asia by tomorrow pero dahil sa series of unfortunate events eh i will be stuck in this island 1 week longer.

unfortunate event no. 1: i got sick this week which is supposedly my last week for LV SAP Project and last week rin before my vacation. it ended-up to be a week-long sick leave.

unfortunate event no. 2: i had to undergo a surgery na minor lang daw. but they had to put me on general anaesthesia. first time kong ma-admit sa ospital - traumatic.

unfortunate event no. 3: i have no health insurance pala and the operation costed like i delivered a baby. part of my xmas shopping budget un. huhuhuhu.

unfortunate event no. 4: my itinerary remained waitlisted, isa lang ang confirmed.

unfortunate event no. 5: nde daw ako pede umalis hanggat wala un new work permit ko. kaya instead of tom. eh dec. 13 ang alis ko sa isla na to.

unfortunate event no. 6: mabubulok ako dito sa bahay ng 1 week para tumayo at dumapa maghapon. nagshoshopping na sana ako sa SG by that time.

okay apart from these unfortunate events eh nakakatuwa rin naman because i knew that a lot of people cared for me. family back home, ex-acn friends, MIDC friends and even onshore counterparts. :) i feel loved. :)

Pronounced as "stay"tus or "sta"tus?

All of the people here pronounce it as "stay"tus and I'm the only one pronouncing it as "sta"tus. Sometimes I even pronounce it both ways. Hahaha! I will say "sta"tus then say "stay"tus so they will get it.

Mr. I Know Everything in English (a.k.a. papable) (note: excluding spelling =P) says that "stay"tus is the 'received pronunciation'.

last getaway before coming home for xmas

after a year here in the island, ngayon lang ako makakapunta sa North kung saan may night life "daw". we won the final award for the L'Envol CMMi initiative so we got the prize of spending a weekend at Maritim Hotel.

i am in charge of bringing the booze. BI talaga ako, hehehe, so dadalhin ko na lang un vodka na regalo ng landlord ko. si Nitin naman daw ang magdadala ng beer and wine.



there will be moslems too in the group so definitely eh nde naman lashengan session to. anyway, im looking forward sa water sports activities. :)

summer na summer na dito pero mas feel ko pa rin ang weather sa pinas na mejo malamig which brings the spirit of xmas!

career-wise. as in seryosong career nde career na lovelife. hehehe.

sa dame ng pinasahan ko eh may nagreply naman sa wakas who found my CV interesting. akala ko ba in demand ang trabaho ko? nde na ata! hehehe. anyway, un nga bukas 2:30 MU time. iniisip ko pa nga kung san ako pupwesto during the phone interview. magbook kaya ako ng meeting room? hahaha! napaka-kapal ko talaga. oh well siguro sa smoking area na lang sa 1st floor = smoking area ng non-ACN people. hehehe.

sana madaling intindihin ang accent nila, sanay na naman ako sa belgian, french at british accents, naway eto ay nde nalalayo. nde ako mashadong nag-eexpect sa ngayon. i'm looking forward to SG sana, pero wala pang balita sa recruiter na suki ko. magulo na plano ko ngayon sa buhay. dati ayoko sa SG, malapit kase kay ate, pero ngayon eh mejo convinced na ako.

long time no see!

namiss kita sobra! dahil sa umuwe na un 2 naonshore na pinoy eh binigay nila sakin un nde nila nagamit na sinigang mix. ang balak ko eh last grocery ko na nun bumili ako ng pangcaldereta dahil uubusin ko na lang sana un oatmeal ko til 1st week of december. pero nde ako makatiis na pumunta sa way para bumili ng baboy. hehehe.

meron pa akong isang nike-crave. binagoongang baboy + nilagang talong. higit na mas masarap sa briani ng mauritius!

Batman

itago natin sha sa pangalang Batman (kse lagi shang may Robin on his side). sha ang french onshore coordinator na nakawork ko sa 2 projects na naworkan ko dito sa MIDC.

i used to hate him dahil:

1. marami akong mishaps na napupuna nya, nde naman sa deliveries pero sa communication churva with the business and non-ACN colleagues and the like. ang core values ng ACN eh isinasapuso nya.
2. intimidated at takot ako sa kanya
3. madame shang sharp and smart comments na minsan eh nakakabwiset
4. minsan eh nibabypass nya ang leads at dumederecho sa developers and you have no choice but to say yes. there was one time na dumerecho sha sakin:

batman: xianne, this is quite urgent. can you and vitish work over the weekend to be able to finish this by monday?
xianne: euh, let me check. i will ask vitish too.
.....
xianne: euh batman, we have a wedding to attend on saturday.
batman: so?

i've always imagined him looking like bin laden dahil nga sabi nila eh may Iranian features sha. so nun pagpunta ko sa Belgium eh i was shocked to see na para lang shang college student. totoy na totoy pero intimidating pa rin.

anyway, after a while we got along naman. ngayon eh friends na kame sa MSN at facebook tapos may smileys na ang chats namin. hehehe. and we are still working on the same project.

so un nga, nakakatuwa lang kse binigyan nya ako ng celebratingperformance pogi points and here's his comment.

infairness, natouch naman ako. mejo bumalik na ang motivation ko. ambabaw! hahaha! pero un lang siguro kelangan ko, recognition from onshore counterparts dahil wag nang umasa sa increment dito. more chances na maonshore na lang. =P

oh baka naman nakita nya sa facebook na birthday ko? kaya eto na lang ang simpleng regalo nya. hehehe! pede na rin, it kept me going somehow.

Micromanagement is Mismanagement

i've just realized 2 important things:

1. i hate the new project because i'm being micromanaged and it's not because i want to go back to InBev so badly.
2. i don't want to take the management ladder because i know for a fact that there's a tendency that i would become a micromanager.

enough said, i'm strange.
